PPG Industries, an $11 billion leading producer of coatings, glass, chemicals, and fiberglass is seeking talented people for a Production Engineer position at PPG’s Fiber Glass Plant located in Lexington, North Carolina. Lexington is located within a short driving distance of Greensboro, High Point, Winston Salem and Charlotte, NC.
 
The Lexington facility manufactures a variety of fiber glass products including growth areas such as wind energy, filtration and flexible piping, along with many other applications serving the energy, industrial and construction markets.

The incumbent will provide primary engineering support and leadership for a large single or smaller multiple operating department(s) or product groups. Responsibilities include budget development and management, process improvement initiatives, problem solving through employee engagement & interaction, use of statistical process control, identification and implementation of technical innovations, and being accountable for the operating performance of the area or product group. Implementation of LEAN operating principles is also a key element of this role.

Job Requirements

Process engineering experience is preferred along with a working knowledge and successful implementation of lean manufacturing principles and statistical process control. A successful candidate should possess a B.S. degree in engineering with a minimum of two years experience as a production/project engineer. Excellent communication/teamwork skills with a track record of successful process/project work are critical. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who has the potential and interest to move into an operations management role within PPG.
