Job Description

Factory Motor Parts is looking for a UNIX Administrator that will be responsible for identifying and resolving technical issues that include many high priority issues. You will focus on providing enterprise level uptime, and will be interfacing with highly educated specialists as well as users with little, or no, technical knowledge. This position requires that you be very detail oriented and organized. The primary technology focus will be in maintaining Factory Motor Parts Unix and Linux server environment.

Position Responsibilities:

• Monitor, support and troubleshoot the IT infrastructure for operating issues involving failures, degradation and event correlation using various software and hardware monitoring tools. Includes; complex and high priority issues.
• Identify root cause of issues and influence our ability to prevent reoccurring issues.
• Monitors hardware utilization, database utilization, and system response time.
• Provide regular updates to IT leaders on the current and planned status of Unix/Linux server architecture
• Provides day-to-day operational duties related to our Unix/Linux servers and proactive environment maintenance.
• Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems.
• Develops and maintains a strong practical understanding of technologies currently deployed within the department.
• Demonstrates complete understanding of principles, concepts, practices and standards of industry knowledge.
• Develops and reviews operational instructions for normal systems activities, system backups, and disaster recovery situations.

Job Requirements

• 5 years of IT Experience

• 3 years of Unix experience
• Experience with Linux, Unix, BSD, perl, C/C , Apache, and TCP/IP

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

• 5 years' experience with of AIX, Red Hat, Ubuntu
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Ability to handle multiple projects and activities, deal with change, and work with a variety of personality types required
• Must be able to troubleshoot very complex issues with short time constraints
• Must have the ability to communicate and document complex issues and procedures
• Experience with AIX, Red Hat, Unidata, DNS, TCP/IP, PHP and perl.
• Experience with Networking, specifically Fiber Channel
• Experience with SAN technologies, specifically NetApp
