Brunswick’s General Manager Development Program will put you in a position to succeed and on a clear path to advancement. You’ll learn how to operate a million-dollar business for an industry leader, create a guest experience that draws customers in and keeps them coming back year after year, maximize profits, lead and motivate a team, all while working in a fun environment.

Once assigned to a bowling center as a General Manager in Training, you’ll have the chance to take part in Brunswick’s cutting edge, comprehensive and rigorous development program. You'll work with our experienced General Manager Coaches on everything from day to day management responsibilities to sales, marketing and financials. Depending on your experience and education level, your completion of the program may range from 6 months to 18 months.

You’ll take an active part in your self development by following a learning / curriculum plan designed to help you develop the skills needed to be successful. In addition to working side by side with our best and brightest General Managers, you will complete web based and classroom training as well as spend time rotating from one area of the bowling center to another to get a feel for the entire operation. You will also complete important job assignments and activities designed to give you the experience you need.

As you progress, you be tested and evaluated to determine your proficiency. During this time, we will help you hone your problem-solving skills, decision making ability and leadership presence. Not only will you gain valuable business and leadership skills but you will also get hands on, real world experience in operating, managing and administering one of our bowling centers.

Upon your successful completion of the program, you’ll be fully prepared to be promoted General Manager and profitably run one of Brunswick’s centers. Opportunities will be available across the country. As a key part of our management team, your career with Brunswick may progress with other exciting management opportunities to explore within our Retail Operations Managerial Track.

We are accepting applications and pre-qualifying General Manager in Training Candidates on an on-going basis for centers located in the following states: Arizona and California . Recent college graduates and military veterans with an E1-E3 are strongly encouraged to apply.


Job Requirements

The Ideal Candidate will have:

•**Must be at least 21 years of age upon entering the program

• At least a High School Diploma or combination of education and experience that enables the performance of all aspects of this position. Associates degree preferred but not required.
• Minimum of two years in a leadership/management role with hospitality/retail experience preferred.
• Demonstrates flexibility in schedule and has the ability to work varied hours as business dictates including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Exhibits team building and strong interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrates a passion and knowledge for the game of bowling
• Demonstrates passion and knowledge for delivering great guest service.
• Displays drive and ambition toward career goals and takes active steps to make things happen for self.
• Results oriented that is focused on the bottom line and continues to push self and others to accomplish business objectives.
• Maintains a high level of trust and integrity by speaking the truth and maintaining confidentiality when necessary.
• Ability to confront direct reports in a timely manner regarding performance issues and can make negative employment decisions if needed.
• Demonstrates effective time management skills by incorporating processes that allow for greater efficiencies and concentrating efforts on prioritization.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Flexibility to relocate, if necessary upon completion of the program.
