This position is responsible for managing a team of ETL developers. This role is hands-on; the Development Team Lead may also spend time writing code alongside other developers.  Team workload includes researching, architecting, gathering requirements, designing, documenting, and modifying software throughout the complete production life cycle.

Primary Duties:

  • Lead a team of developers, analysts, and designers in conceptualizing and development of new software programs and applications
  • Assigns, delegates and monitors the day-to-day work of developers
  • Hires, develops and motivates assigned staff
  • Serves as a liaison with network administrators, systems analysts, and support teams to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems
  • Writes, translates, and codes software programs and applications according to specifications
  • Assists in the preparation and documentation of program requirements and specifications
  • Runs and monitors software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging
  • Generates statistics, prepares, and writes reports for management and/or team members on the status of the programming process
  • Conducts research on emerging application development software products, languages, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts
  • Recommends, schedules, and performs software improvements and upgrades

Job Requirements


Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science or software engineering; six years of related experience; any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.


  • Demonstrate strong, problem solving, communication, organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills
  • Knowledge of programming languages (Java, ABAP, PL/SQL etc.)
  • Ability to conduct research into software related issues
  • Understands relational database, client server concepts, and software development life cycle methodology
  • Ability to work independently, positively handle conflict, and work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot software
  • Display detail-oriented approach to work
  • Ability and proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office products
  • Physical, mental, and sensory abilities to use a telephone, calculator, computer video terminals, keyboards, and software applications
  • Ability to work overtime and travel occasionally

Working Conditions: 

Individuals in this position will encounter ambient room temperatures, lighting, and traditional office equipment as found in any typical office environment. Individuals may need to sit at a desk or table for long periods of time; to speak clearly and carefully listen to customers; to reach over shoulder heights; crouch or stoop below the waist; repetitive wrist, hand, or finger movement; occasional lifting up to 25 pounds; and lifting as required to file documents or store materials during the workday.
