Areas of responsibility include:
Research feasibility of launching into new customer segments like small business, education, etc.
Will size the business opportunity and determine technical and financial feasibility based on an analysis of cost and effort that targeting these segments will entail
Play a key role in customer acquisition efforts for these newer segments
Will play a key role in managing projects and processes leading from design to implementation.
Will play a key role in all due diligence and presenting the case to senior leadership for approval
Explore new business models for the product
Lead the development of new product variants to target specific applications or customer segments, for example a travel card or an affinity card
Work with internal partners to develop opportunities to bundle our product with other complementary products
Develop value added services for our product to increase stickiness and strengthen the value proposition for our customers
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
Business, Finance, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred
Minimum 7 years plus years of financial services experience with at least 5 years of assigned product management or comparable banking, investments or sales experience. Will need equivalent experience with assigned product team in lieu of education.
Specific product management experience in the payments area preferred.
Demonstrated ability to grasp new opportunities, to see the potential in new ideas, and intuitive ability to sniff out the good ideas from low potential ones
Good negotiating skills to craft favorable outcomes for the business
Strong analytical skills. Will be required to develop business models to aid in decision making
Ability to think through abstract ideas and notions, ones that may not be in practice today
Must have the gravitas and presence to represent the product and the company to senior external and internal partners
Be able to communicate ideas well and present a compelling picture to move ideas from conception to interest in decision makers and subsequently to approval
Strong influencing skills will help in dealing with people over whom the candidate will no direct authority
Self-starter and able to work productively without close supervision
Must display persistence and resilience in the face of obstacles, objections and roadblocks.
This position may be located in Cleveland, OH or Pittsburgh, PA.
