Job Description

As a Lead Sourcing Specialist, you are a member of PNC's Supply Chain Management organization of more than 140 professionals. You will be based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and will join one of the leading Supply Chain Management organizations in the financial services industry.
Your Supply Chain Management experience will be greatly utilized as you independently manage the strategic sourcing processes and lead process direction, department measurements, oversight and methods for company contracts. You will have the opportunity to direct work flow, assist in defining roles and responsibilities, provide assistance and technical guidance to both business partners and sourcing leaders.  This position will work with a high level of autonomy and will provide feedback to the Strategic Sourcing Manager and CPO.
Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, coordinating and facilitating cross-functional commodity teams in the execution of the corporate strategic sourcing process for projects related to assigned Technology commodities.

  • Understand, and negotiate terms advantageous to the company in order to develop well-written and legally binding contracts to secure goods and services throughout the company.

  • Determine and implement supplier performance and cost reduction programs.

  • Evaluate and measure vendor performance to ensure they are meeting expectations, including price, lead time, responsiveness, and contract commitment.

  • Build strong service partner relationships by establishing a leadership role in the focus on satisfying customer requirements, gaining strategic alignment, effectively monitoring and measuring results, and being cognizant of cross-organizational impacts.

  • Conduct market research and detailed data analysis to identify areas in which to develop annual cost savings programs.

  • Ensures the implementation and compliance within the organization to operate in a manner consistent with risk practices of the corporation.

  • Manage the process and relationship between Strategic Sourcing and the Legal department to ensure that Legal contract recommendations are adhered to and the required changes are either negotiated and/or risk assessed prior to the execution of any contract agreements.

  • Provide expertise in processes and systems to lead change management efforts across the organization to promote, sell and create adoption of the corporate strategic sourcing program.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications: 

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain management or business related field.

  • A Minimum 8+ years of related experience.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft office suite products.

  • Experience with Ariba Buyer.

  • Previous negotiation experience is a must.
Preferred Skills/ Core Competencies: 

  • Project/Vendor Management experience preferred.

  • Previous Sales or Marketing experience preferred.

  • Action orientated.
