ASCO Power Technologies, an industry leader in the manufacturing of automatic transfer switches, industrial control products and power control systems, services and solutions, has an exciting career opportunity for Field Service Engineers for the organization based out in NY/NJ region.

Job Summary:


Under limited supervision, responsible for start-up, repair, maintenance, modification and troubleshooting of automatic transfer switches, and paralleling switchgear systems following Company standard procedures and according to service contracts.



Essential Functions:


  • Performs field service work in accordance with service agreements to conduct maintenance, modifications, start-up and validation of Automatic Transfer Switch and Power Control Systems.

  • Provides troubleshooting, adjustment and repair services on all Transfer Switch and Power Control Systems products in the field.

  • Prepares service reports which may contain design recommendations that may be forwarded to Product Engineering groups.

  • Provides follow-up action, as required, with reference to Field Service trips.

  • Supervises outside contractors including technicians, and service workers as it relates to the Company’s automatic transfer switches, and paralleling switchgear systems at the job site in order to complete field service work.

  • Conducts training sessions in the operation, maintenance, theory and design of ASCO equipment, as required.

  • Performs field modifications to Transfer Switch and/or Power Control Products or its intended operation.






Job Requirements



  • Technical school Certificate or  related experience or military service as Nuclear Electricians Mate or Air Force Power Production Technician

  • Experience:

  • Troubleshooting or creating Programmable Logic Control programs

  • Low and medium voltage power applications experience, as well as diesel and turbine generator control systems.

  • Knowledge of SCADA or building control software is a plus.

  • GE Fanuc, Simplicity and Wonderware experience is a plus.



Specific Skills:



  • Use of oscilloscope; special test equipment, and standard laboratory instruments and meters.

  • Operate Company vehicle with supply and equipment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as PC skills in Microsoft Windows based software.
