Job Description

Cook   (Non-Exempt) – Under the supervision of the Director of Dining Services and the Executive Chef, assists in the preparation of food for residents in a long term care and restaurant setting according to menu, established guidelines and procedures.  Must maintain high standard of sanitation and safety in all areas of food preparation, service, storage, and equipment.

Job Requirements

Culinary experience in restaurant and/or institutional cooking preferred.  State Sanitation Certification preferred.  Must possess a high school diploma, GED, or show official high school transcript proving continued education.  Must be capable of following written and oral instructions.  Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.  Must be able to obtain Jefferson County Sanitation certification. Dining Services.  5:00 AM – 7:30 PM availability required.  (5 AM – 1:30 PM, 8 AM – 4:30 PM, 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM, shift hours vary).  Every other weekend availability required and relief as needed.
