Job Description

Responsible for project management of small to medium sized multidiscipline projects, design and permit production, close interaction with clients.  Responsible for putting teams together in order to complete projects of a high standard of quality, within deadlines and within budgetary requirements.  Responsible for financial aspects of the project. Responsible for business development of applicable projects. Plans, designs and directs civil related projects while mentoring less experienced staff in the process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Includes the following - Other duties may be assigned:

  • Develops/reviews the project scope and WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) of a potential project.
  • Serves as a project manager and project engineer on projects and as a designated client contact explaining and modeling efficient project management processes to less experience staff.
  • Prepares and directs preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, and designs for project.
  • Prepares/develops the project proposal estimating engineering costs, determining engineering disciplines needed and forecasting total resources required  for the project
  • Prepares/monitors project budget.  Has overall responsibility for the profitability of his/her project.
  • Monitors project throughout all phases ensuring project schedules and budget compliance. 
  • Attends client meetings, communicating concerns and changes with the client in order to ensure a positive relationship.
  • Controls work-in-process, ensures accurate client billings, and monitors outstanding accounts receivable and collection efforts on his/her projects.
  • Interprets and complies with all governmental requirements, ordinances and permitting.
  • Reviews project specifications (non-technical and technical sections)
  • Prepares technical reports and studies.

Job Requirements

Education/Certifications/Licensure  

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college or university plus and 8 years of related work experience, or Masters and 7 years of related work
  • Professional Engineering Licensure  in PA is required (P.E.)

 Experience/Minimum Requirements  

  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience preferred.

Other Skills/Abilities  

  • Project Managerial and Business Development required
  • PE Designation in PA, OH and/or WV and oil and gas experience required.
  • Experience in estimating Engineering 
  • Construction costs
  • developing project scopes
  • Reading blueprints
  • Writing proposals
  • Writing technical reports
  • Performing engineering studies and managing multi-discipline projects as well as managing the work of a diverse group of people.
