We are seeking an experienced Senior Consultant for our National Tax Services practice. This position could be located in Milwaukee, WI; Chicago, IL; Minneapolis, MN; or Washington, D.C.

Responsibilities
  • Research and development tax credit engagements.
  • Comprehensive fixed asset engagements including cost segregation, repairs and maintenance and depreciation studies.
  • Tax accounting method planning engagements including inventory accounting, income deferral and recognition, accelerating and accruing deductions, domestic manufacturing deduction and meals and entertainment.
  • Tax accounting method change compliance ensuring clients comply with applicable authorities and identifying options for minimizing client tax and reporting burdens while ensuring firm risk management and tax quality control standards and protocols are met.
  • Identifies all areas in which research is necessary and conducts appropriate investigations, prepares studies of tax implications and outlines alternative courses of action, composes memos and develops and delivers effective presentations.
  • Team with Partners, Senior Managers and Managers on proposals and business development efforts.
  • Assists with administrative tasks including engagement letter and fee management, billing and collections.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
  • CPA eligible.  Minimum of three (3) years of progressive experience in public accounting with direct experience in any the following tax areas: R&D, Fixed Assets, and Accounting Methods.
  • Demonstrated analytical, organization, interpersonal, project management, communication skills and highly developed Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Ability to lead and supervise others, provide exceptional client service, demonstrate commitment to continuous learning in order to stay current regarding applicable strategies, see the 'big picture' as well as the details, display appropriate ethical knowledge and commitment, and exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and the timely completion of duties.
