Job Description

Responsible for contributing to the health of our community by providing quality services in a compassionate and cost-effective manner. Provides direction and leadership to the Registration Department. Promotes a collaborative relationship with Lab-DI-Surgery to ensure optimum patient flow and patient satisfaction.

  • Collaborates with Lab and DI clerical Supervisors to ensure order entry accuracy of ancillary exams.

  • Develops strategic objectives and action plans for the effectiveness of the registration team(s).

  • Audits patient registration process to ensure accuracy, reporting monthly to CHW through the Feedback Loop program.

  • Recommends improvements of process, forms and practices to improve the documentation of patient registration and eliminate duplication of

  • Reports and informs hospital personnel of regulatory changes for the registration of all patients.

  • Provides orientation and training programs for department personnel, IST, OPC , Preteam, and ER registration and others as specified by the

  • Audits procedures and practices to ensure compliance with accrediting, regulatory and risk management standards.

  • Audits quarterly Hospital Information Security reports to maintain confidentiality of medical information.

  • Promotes and assists integrating the department and associated functions with other groups within the organization including CHW.

  • Attends regional and corporate meetings to maintain current knowledge of registration requirements associated with all regulatory requirements.

  • Serves as a member of the Patient Rights Task Force, ensuring that all registration staff are aware of changing regulatory mandates pertaining to
    patients rights.

  • Responsible for the timely completion and distribution of hospital reports, statistics and graphs as requested by Managers and/or CHW.

  • Serves as advisor and member of the Hospital injury and ergonomics committee.

  • Prepares and tracks annual competencies

  • Conducts monthly meetings

  • Develops and successfully completes annual goals.

Job Requirements


  • Leadership abilities reflective of the SNMH Leadership Competencies.

  • Strong interpersonal skills including teaching, coaching and mentoring skills.

  • Understanding of operational and capital budget management.

  • Independent problem solving, conflict resolution and decision making abilities.

  • Knowledge of JCAHO, State and Federal regulations.

  • Ability to remain calm under stress and work in an environment of frequent interruptions.

  • Current knowledge of facilitation and project management.

  • Proficiency in the use of a computer including hospital information systems.

  • Knowledge of quality improvement procedures, principles and tools.


  • Three or more years of hospital and/or medical office management experience preferred.

  • Bachelors' degree and/or advanced formal education preferred
