Role Summary:

This senior data integration engineer position is responsible for the effort to design, development, implement, manage and support enterprise ETL processes and environments.  This person must have the ability to become adept at domain and tool experience.

 

Role Description

  • Plan and conduct development work on projects necessitating the origination and application of new and unique approaches
  • Translate business requirements into data models that drive data warehouse or data mart design and configuration
  • Work with cross-functional teams to gather, document, and approve business requirements for data analysis and reporting projects
  • Translate business requirements into system design specification to manage Unstructured, Transactional, Hierarchical, Master and meta data
  • Design, develop and implement data integration (ETL) processes to transform unstructured and disparate source data into the target data stores, data warehouses or data mart
  • Oversee implementation and maintenance of ETL processes that support feature development and testing
  • Monitoring of data warehouse ETL processes and implementation of tuning as needed to address scalability, recoverability and performance impediments
  • Provide 24x7 support to ensure availability of BI environments for internal and external users
 

Job Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of logical and physical data modeling concepts for OLTP and OLAP databases
  • Advanced Knowledge of with an emphasis on of Informatica Powercenter or other comparable server/integration tool
  • Knowledge of SQL Server 2008/2012 with an emphasis on Integration Services (SSIS) or other comparable server/integration tool
  • performing Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) responsibilities
  • Minimum 4 years experience with SQL database development or other comparable environment
  • Minimum 4 years with data warehouse implementations
  • Minimum 4 years experience working with users in a requirements analysis role
  • Advanced knowledge of logical and physical data modeling concepts
  • Advanced knowledge of database development techniques and creating and debugging stored procedures
  • Advanced knowledge in data modeling designs and techniques
  • Advanced knowledge of Data Warehouse project lifecycle, tools, technologies, best practices
  • Expert skills to develop complex SQL queries (ex: using various joins and sub-queries) and stored procedures
  • Advanced Experience with performance tuning of integration methodologies and associated code
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced remote environment with minimal direction, extreme pressure, and tight deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
  • Ability to validate data integration by developing and executing test plans
