Job Description

Vaco is working with a mid-sized, Birmingham-based company with revenue of $80M annually and 500+ associates to identify a Human Resources Director. Our client has experienced significant growth in the past 36 months and is adding this position to their growing staff. The Human Resources Director will work hand-in-hand with executive management to develop, implement and execute HR initiatives at all levels of the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Plans, manages and coordinates various Human Resource functions and organizes and schedules all necessary resources required to accomplish activities.
  • Recruits, interviews, and selects employees to fill vacant positions.
  • Plans and coordinates new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
  • Calculates, uploads and manages payroll for 500 employees, using ADP Payroll.
  • Coordinates record of insurance coverage, 401(k) plan, and personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations Coordinates safety and health requirements and compliance, including safety committee, safety training and preparing reports for insurance carrier.
  • Represents organization at personnel related hearings and investigations.
  • Contracts with outside suppliers to provide employee services, such as relocation service.
  • Conducts training on company policy issues, and other issues as they arise.
  • Counsels employees and other managers on various employee relation issues.
  • Maintains technical knowledge and a current awareness of new Human Resource developments and techniques.

Requirements:

  • 8-12 years of progressive experience in Human Resources
  • Prior experience in Employee Retention, Benefit Management, Associate Relations, Training, etc.
  • A Bachelor's degree is required and Human Resource certification(s) are strongly preferred.
  • All applicants must have a high level of integrity and have a passion for helping others.
