Job Description

Judge Healthcare is currently seeking a Sonographer for a excellent opportunity in the San Antonio area. The Sonographer will be responsible for coordinating and performing diagnostic medical imaging procedures for the Ultrasound department utilizing computerized medical imaging equipment.

This job will have the following responsibilities:
  • Performs a variety of Ultrasound procedures using independent judgment to provide quality patient care while consistently displaying outstanding judgment in film critique
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.
  • Maintains Quality Control/Quality Assurance in accordance with ACR and TDH standards and regulations. Assures that all documentation is accurately recorded and kept in an organized manner susceptible to instant inspection if needed.
  • Upon completion of a procedure, the technologist ensures that the images have been formatted correctly, films/CD printed if needed, sent to the PACS and the chart has been given to the radiologist
  • Appropriately adapts assigned client assessment, treatment and/or care methods to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, and age-specific and other developmental needs of each person served.
  • Demonstrates competence to do assigned client care responsibilities in a way that meets the age-specific and developmental needs of persons served by the department.
  • Ensures that the Ultrasound department is adequately supplied, checks equipment status daily and reports any problems that could change the work flow.
  • Coordinates and prioritizes procedures during the work day to maintain a high level of patient care and continuity.
  • Selects the proper ultrasound protocols based on the ordered procedure.
  • Protects patients from various safety factors.
  • Operate a variety of radiographic and support equipment, including radiographic and ultrasound as well as support equipment.

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • High school graduate
  • Graduate of AMA approved School of Radiological Sciences, Ultrasound Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent.
  • Must be licensed by the Texas Department of Health
  • Must have registration by American Registry of Diagnostic Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) for vascular procedures and meet continuing education requirements at all times.
