District Sales Manager

Job Description

The District Sales Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, monitoring and directing a sales teams performance and resource allocation needs within an assigned District; ensuring the team achieves revenue targets and goals, a high level of customer service, high product retention rates, and supporting and promoting Sleepys strategies and initiatives.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

•         Delivering positive, quantifiable results for Sleepys and its customers

•         Providing leadership, supervision and training to Mattress Professionals, to drive sales and maximize margin; interacting with sales team during customer interaction; handling T/Os

•         Analyzing and reviewing Mattress Professionals sales reports; conducting business reviews; taking action

•         Monitoring showroom compliance with policies and procedures, including opening and closing, protecting company assets, and bank deposits

•         Overseeing the optimization of the overall customer experience

•         Demonstrating mastery with Sleepys internal processes, systems and sales support structure

•         Managing HR related initiatives and functions, including retention, training, development, performance and recruitment for Mattress Professionals; conducting interviews and make hiring decisions in partnership with Recruitment; partner with HR regarding issues and initiatives

•         Partnering with Customer Service regarding any customer escalations/issues

•         Supporting and/or conducting corporate training programs and ensuring that their team completes all company directed training; this includes sales observations, role play and coaching

•         Providing guidance and training to Mattress Professionals to develop future District Sales Managers

•         Monitoring Employee morale in district to ensure a pleasant and productive work environment

•         Maintaining a competitive landscape with associated action plan

•         Visiting showrooms in market to monitor performance, provide feedback, and recognize exceptional performance and areas for improvement; ensuring proper execution of all interior and exterior standards

•         Completing store inspections as needed and providing direct feedback to Mattress Professionals to initiate an action plan

•         Communicating regularly with team via email, meetings and conference calls to provide market directives and reinforce policies and procedures

•         Performing other assigned duties as needed

•         Works well independently and can make decisions daily.  Periodically consults with manager.

Job Requirements

•         1-3 years of multi-unit retail sales management experience

•         1+ years of experience motivating and leading a commission or incentive driven sales team

•         Track record of success as a multi-unit sales leader with demonstrated skills in sales and customer service management

•         Excellent relationship, team building and communication skills

•         Demonstrates the ability to delegate tasks and assignments to team members in order to encourage the development of their skills, knowledge and performance to complete their job

  • Train and coach employees through effective floor leadership, creating a profitable and engaging sales experience where no customer is ever left un-served

•         Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM solution, POS systems  

•         Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing or related a plus

•         Must be flexible to travel

•         Available to work weekends and holiday

  •    Must reside within the geographic area of the assigned area
