Job Title: Patient Account Representative Industry: Behavioral Health Location: St. Paul, MN Duration: start asap, temporary with the potential to be full time Position Summary: The Patient Account Representative is a critical part of operations and client management teams. This position is responsible for helping clients develop a financial plan when they seek care at our organization, ensuring clients are accountable for their balances and resolving problems when clients are not paying for their care. In addition, this role ensures that clients attend treatment programs to get the care they need. This role, as part of a Team, drives the following outcomes: Increasing attendance to treatment services Maximizing the value of financial assistance awarded to clients Facilitating admissions into higher levels of care through eliminating financial barriers Supporting an optimal payer mix Ensuring clients pay for their care in a timely manner Duties: Identifies problem client accounts Answers and inquires by phone regarding client self-pay accounts; works with client management team to develop a financial strategy with the client in regards to client responsibility for service; i.e. deductible, coinsurance and copays Works in accordance with TEP Financial Review policy to resolve delinquent accounts; prepares payment plans and monitors adherence to plans by responsible party; directs accounts to outside collection agencies when necessary Reviews applications for financial assistance; contacts clients regarding the outcome Allocates funding to approved financial assistance recipients Reports on all financial assistance types and dollar amounts Works with clients and care teams to resolve attendance issues Perform other duties as assigned Experience & Education: Two years of experience in healthcare working with client benefit coverage and/or claims preferred Experience working in a behavioral health environment preferred Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs with ability to learn new applications Competencies: Customer service focus and the ability to build strong working relationships with staff, clients and vendors Ability to be firm and ensure accountability, while being compassionate Flexibility and sensitivity to detail and deadlines in a multitasking environment Must willingly adapt to shifting or competing priorities and work productively in the face of ambiguity Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and work under pressure Excellent written and verbal communication skills Solid interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to work with a wide variety of personalities Work independently and very proactively with minimal direction/supervision A high degree of initiative and drive to exceed expectations Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make timely decisions on problems requiring immediate attention Demonstrates a "can-do" spirit, a sense of optimism, ownership, and commitment Please email resumes to [Click Here to Email Your Resum├ę] for review
