If so, The Jackson Laboratory has a great opportunity for you in beautiful Down East Maine. We are seeking a Business Analyst with solid experience in Laboratory Information Management Systems to contribute in a team-oriented environment to a multi-year implementation of an enterprise LIMS system across several dozen laboratories at multiple sites in the organization. The successful candidate will be part of the LIMS implementation team and will work closely with laboratory personnel to define and document configuration of user interfaces, map process and workflow, provide data management, and define systems integrations to meet the rapidly growing and highly integrated needs of laboratory service groups.



  • Lead functional and technical requirements development
  • Assess and validate solution options against requirements
  • Participate in design, configuration and customization of solutions
  • Author As Is and To Be workflows, requirements, use cases, and other relevant documentation

The successful candidate will be required to have a satisfactory background/consumer credit check completed prior to beginning employment.

Job Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to lead requirements and business process definition and design sessions with decision makers, system owners and end users under minimal supervision and guidance
  • Proficiency in system engineering processes; business process, requirements, analysis and related modeling tools, standards and assigned application domain areas
  • Ability to write and maintain effective technical and program documentation
  • Ability to work closely with the business team to analyze and recommend functional optimizations and solutions and investigate /resolve issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (both technical and functional)
Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the documentation and analysis of functional requirements, in the analysis, development and documentation of business processes and in researching solutions for applications of medium to major complexity and cross-functional in scope
  • Experience with STARLiMS preferred or related LIMS
  • Experience with GxP/CLIA preferred
