Manager of Clinical Regulatory Monitoring – Registered Nurse – RN Job Summary:

Responsible to assess, monitor and report the clinical, regulatory and operational aspects as well as risk exposures for a portfolio(s) of long term care facilities and/or senior housing. Also, this role will require performance and assistance with various components of due diligence for both internal and external clients. Routine analysis and reporting for assigned portfolios will be required. May also be requested to attend meetings or provide presentations as necessary.

Manager of Clinical Regulatory Monitoring – Registered Nurse – RN Responsibilities:

  • Ongoing assessment, monitoring and coordination of assigned portfolio(s) clinical, regulatory and operational activity as well as risk exposures and sentinel events
  • Review and conduct analysis, trending and ongoing tracking of regulatory documents, web sites, database, contact information, reports and other source information
  • Monitor government actions, impositions, time lines and sanctions
  • Data collection and benchmarking of assigned portfolio(s)
  • Assess, monitor and report risk or potential risk exposure
  • Perform real time regulatory activity notification
  • Recommend actions and provide feedback concerning critical indicators and risks from source data and contacts
  • Coordinate and conduct site visits and reviews as needed
  • Conduct and present various types of reporting and summaries (such as target lists) as requested and at intervals as needed
  • Assistance with various components of due diligence analysis and report writing
  • Work with team to develop new services and systems as the need arises
  • Work with Database staff to provide feedback on continued enhancements and development of database content and reporting
  • Conduct interviews and conferences as required
  • Portfolio(s) set up as new business is developed
  • Stay abreast of significant industry trends and developments

Manager of Clinical Regulatory Monitoring – Registered Nurse – RN Qualifications:

  • Degree in health related field and current license (Registered Nurse, BSN preferred; PA, PT, possibly other healthcare professional with experience )
  • Extensive combined clinical and managerial experience in the long term care industry - 10 years’ experience preferred
  • Multi-facility experience, with minimum of regional level position
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Department of Health rules / regulations and related laws for long term care and senior housing
  • Ability to review and interpret federal / state regulatory documents
  • Working knowledge of long term care and senior housing operations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; experience with report writing
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Good analytical, statistical and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of Reimbursement (Medicare and Medicaid ) Payment Systems, MDS and RUGS as well as requirements for accurate coding of such
  • Experience and ease with presentations
  • Able to obtain and correlate facts from multiple sources into cohesive trends
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office, Power Point, Word, Access, Excel and other data reporting programs
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to work independently
  • Flexible, self—directed and motivated
  • Ability to meet timelines and deadlines for assigned projects and reports
