This position will be directly responsible for supplier quality performance management of raw material and specialty parts commodities as well as associated supply base. Key responsibilities will include: proactive reduction and prevention of supplied material defect occurrences, supplier performance data analysis, supplier quality risk mitigation, manufacturing supply chain quality support, root cause and corrective action reviews, on-site supplier QMS audits, development/enhancement of Supply Chain Quality Assurance standard work, and Customer communications. This individual must be able to work within cross-functional teams to meet and improve upon established supplier performance goals. The successful candidate will be a focal point for key commodity and supplier performance. Specific duties will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Identify and influence supplier quality systemic improvement.
  • Lead resolution of supplier quality issues, including manufacturing/program support.
  • Influence supplier sourcing decisions.
  • Review and approve supplier first article submissions.
  • Submit supplier corrective action requests.
  • Review, coach and accept supplier corrective action requests.
  • Train suppliers with preferred corrective action responses.
  • Lead the development/implementation of supplied material control plans.
  • Lead supplier audit preparations.
  • Lead supplier audits.
  • Lead/Support supplier audit resolution.

Job Requirements

  • Knowledge of and working experience with steel manufacturing, complex products design and manufacturing such as valves, and casting processes.
  • Spanish is a plus
  • ASQ or industry related certifications such as AWS certifications a plus
  • Basic computer programming and/or query language skills a plus
Required Experience

  • B.S. – Engineering, Science, Technology, or Mathematics
  • Minimum of 3-years of relevant experience in supplier quality
  • AIAG related working experience a plus
