Functional and Technical Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related science
- Minimum of 5 years of experience formulating architectural paints and/or stains.
- Knowledge of latex, solvent and/or reactive chemistries as well as knowledge of polymers, pigments, and additives along with a familiarity of lab- and production-scale processing.
The Coatings Chemist must have a high degree of attention to detail, along with good organizational and communication skills.
Successful candidates will have a good knowledge of architectural paint and/or stain formulating practices, around solvent, latex and/or reactive technology platforms. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate familiarity with lab- and production-scale processing equipment is crucial for success. The candidate must have good attention to detail, good organizational, written and verbal communication skills. They will demonstrate the ability to be efficient, show initiative, and effectively drive projects to a successful conclusion. The ability to make manager level presentations is desired. Maximum of 10% travel may be required.
