Data Warehouse Security Coordinator (Health and Human Services) -Austin, TX

Job Description

We are seeking a Security Analyst to join our team.  Do you have experience protecting healthcare and other social service data? Do you understand large data warehouses and their unique security and privacy challenges? Do you work well in database development and operational settings? Responsibilities:


  • Gather security and privacy requirements and formulate them into specifications for an enterprise data warehouse (EDW) systems

  • Use Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools such as IBM Rational to trace security and privacy requirements through the system development lifecycle

  • Understand and apply applicable security and privacy elements of Federal and State laws and administrative rules to building and operating of the EDW

  • Design and execute security and privacy plans, procedures and tests for all aspects of the EDW throughout all phases of the EDW project.

  • Monitor the EDW and associated systems for ongoing security and privacy compliance.

  • Research and remain current on new laws and rules regarding security and privacy as well as new capabilities of provided by applicable vendors.


Competencies: Proven ability to work with customers, DBAs, ETL programmers, Business intelligence architects, and PMO staff in a collaborative manner. Demonstrated knowledge of the use of Application Lifecycle Management tools (such as Rational, HP, DevSuite). Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to business users in a clear and concise manner. Ability to manage processes and procedures across diverse enterprise


Job Requirements

Requirements


  • 5 or more year experience with security administration in a data warehouse environment

  • 5 or more year experience with data encryption (database, file and network)

  • 2 or more year experience with operating an Oracle database and/or business intelligence tools in an enterprise IAM environment, such as IBM Tivoli Identity and Access.

  • Experience with providing security and privacy support for the following SDLC processes.

  • Systems analysis and requirements definition Systems design, System Testing, User Acceptance Testing, Maintenance and operation support

  • Experience in defining objectives and implementing controls with sufficient documentation for  SOC II, and SSAE 16 audits

Assets:


  • Knowledge of Federal and State public assistance programs such as Medicaid, CHIP, and TANF.  Experience with Medicaid and public assistance data warehousing is ideal.

  • Experience with documenting security and privacy objectives and creating controls for public assistance programs mentioned above.

  • CISSP, CISA Certifications

  • Experience with Oracle database administration.
