Trinity Containers, LLC is searching for a Weld Manager based at our multi-product facility in Tulsa, OK.  This plant manufactures large Containers, Rail Tank Cars, and Wind Towers. Join our team today and be a part of Helping to Build America. ™

GENERAL FUNCTION:  Administers and directs a welding quality control program within manufacturing facility to ensure that manufactured products meet or exceed company standards, governing codes and regulations.  Implements training curriculum for welder qualification and testing programs.  Supervises welding technician, welding instructor and/or office personnel assigned to support qualification and training activities.  Works under the direction of the Area Welding Administrator.

  • Selects, instructs, assigns and evaluates welding technician and welding instructor.
  • Verifies welding operators are qualified to code and determines placement and pay grades according to skill level.  Maintains and distributes matrix showing each welders' qualifications.
  • Analyzes specifications to determine testing requirements of welders, maintains records of all results.
  • Supervises and performs visual and physical inspection and testing to ensure welding procedures are completed in accordance with the appropriate contract documents, codes and standards.  Organizes and makes sure X-Ray tests are arranged for and completed when necessary.
  • Ensures welding equipment falls within procedural guidelines and maintains documentation attesting to this.  Makes equipment recommendations.
  • Works with Welding Engineers to develop welding procedures.
  • Audits and analyzes equipment check reports prepared by Welding Technician, notifies Plant Manager of any problems.
  • Designs and administers welding programs to ensure that manufactured products meet or exceed efficiency targets, quality standards, governing codes and regulations
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience by investigating welding issues and providing training
  • Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services
  • Solves complex problems; provides a new perspective using existing solutions
  • Applies in-depth job knowledge to a wide range of multiple or complex tasks
  • Uses independent judgment to solve routine problems and makes recommendations on complex issues
  • Solves diverse range of problems of varying scope and complexity
  • Serves as project lead on small to mid-size projects with moderate level complexity

Job Requirements

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:  Considerable knowledge of welding process, materials and equipment.  Good knowledge of regulatory standards, AWS, ASME & AAR codes and requirements applicable to welding.  Ability to develop, demonstrate and test welding processes and procedures.  Must be eligible to conduct welding evaluation and testing programs.  Ability to effectively build and lead a productive work group; and to perform as a member of a management team.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:  CWI-Certified Welding Inspector and considerable to extensive related experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which results in the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
