Monitronics International, a subsidiary of Ascent Capital Group, is looking for an Application Support Developer to join their IT team.

This position provides system analysis and design, project management, and user support in the development, enhancement, maintenance and integration of application software systems.


Job Requirements

  • The successful incumbent will have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of systems and programming experience. 
  • Application development within Microsoft development environment, experience with VB.net / ASP.net, WPF, WFC, WPC preferred.
  • Data management expertise including experience with AIX DB2 and SQL Server development (stored procedures, queries, connections).
  • Experience in deploying Services and Applications in a complex environment.
  • Data extracts (ETL) data management (through tools or script)
  • Report development a plus (preferably SSRS)

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Define requirements, analyze, design, enhance, and develop software systems to efficiently and effectively fulfill corporate initiatives and planning/development objectives.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, Systems Analysis Documents, various Q/A walk throughs, project estimates and project reporting/tracking.
  • Maintain technical skill set across a broad range of software languages, databases, platforms, operating systems, utilities and networks.
  • Respond to system failure and performance events, taking appropriate measures to reduce system downtime and eliminate recurrence of the problem.
  • Respond to system usage questions and conduct training classes to empower system users with the knowledge to maximize their use of developed systems.
  • Develop and present IT and User Management comprehensive presentations of proposed systems.
  • Follow IT Standards and Procedures ensuring development methodology are followed.
