Overview:

You have the opportunity to join our Internal Audit Department working with a highly-experienced, well-qualified and growing audit team. Our rapid growth is constantly creating new challenges in our audit department and the need for additional internal controls and testing procedures. You will have face to face contact with high-level managers and employees across virtually all departments of the bank and will gain exposure to almost every facet of the company. Other, more static, banks and accounting firms have more fixed audit programs and testing procedures with little need for growth or change. You will have the opportunity to be a part of the implementation and execution of new audit approaches and testing procedures. Responsibilities:

The position of IT Audit Manager will plan, conduct and deliver IT corporate audits and results.  The individual will evaluate internal controls, operations and administrative functions for efficiency and effectiveness, adherence to bank policies and procedures, and compliance with federal and state banking regulations.  This position will also be responsible for maintaining audit software (TeamMate) to provide a well-documented and organized audit program and audit work papers.

  • Performing work under the direction of the Audit Director which can include individual or multiple audit assignments;
  • Lead a team of IT Auditors and conduct comprehensive risk assessment and engagement planning;
  • Executing and documenting audit work within TeamMate;
  • Developing, presenting and finalizing audit reports;
  • Manage less experienced auditors on one or multiple assignments;
  • Performing administrative duties and participating in special projects as assigned by department management;
  • Developing and maintaining relationship with Company’s staff and management to facilitate proactive assessment of the Company’s IT risk profile;
  • Assessing personnel and personal development needs (i.e., training and career development) in conjunction with department management.

Job Requirements

These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the position in a satisfactory manner.  Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.

  • A self-motivated, results-oriented professional with experience and success working in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong knowledge of information systems development, applications, general controls and technical audits.  Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills in order to work with all levels of management are required.  Must be effective at communicating issues through written reports, verbal discussions and presentations.
  • Undergraduate degree in MIS, Accounting, Business Administration or related area.  A graduate degree is a plus but not required.
  • 5 or more years of internal audit and/or public accounting experience or finance preferably all within IT/Technology Audit.  Large commercial bank or other financial institution (> $5 bln in total assets) experience a plus but not required.
  • Strong understanding of the COSO and COBIT framework, FFIEC guidance risk assessment, control analysis and audit methodologies. 
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor required.
  • Ability to travel regionally.
