Job Description

JobDescription:

  • Telecommunication Engineer is the telecommunications support person for the Client, environment including the RGOs and RHO's. This role includes configuring and optimizing all Cisco telephone systems, services, voicemail as well as all ancillary systems supporting the voice environment. Additional roles and duties include adherence to all corporate change management policies, maintaining established service level agreements and compliance to all corporate policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Working in a fast paced, high pressure, constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to complete projects and installations within aggressive time and budget parameters.
  • Maintain and support of the Client's voice infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of VoIP networks and SIP trunking, being able to do basic troubleshooting and configuring on a daily basis.
  • Technical understanding of Call Center applications, skills based routing and how they work within the Client's Enterprise, included in this is a strong knowledge for infrastructure support of the call recorders.
  • Maintain and support of the 60+ Client sites
  • Maintain and support of all voice applications, i.e voicemail, fax, speech recognition, chargeback etc..
  • Diagnostics and troubleshooting of an enterprise environment.
  • Reports on project progress.
  • Escalates any problems, as appropriate, to the project manager.
  • Maintains awareness of team milestones.

Job Requirements

RequiredSkills:


  • Minimum of 3 years' experience preferred in a fast paced enterprise voice infrastructure environment.
  • Experience with multivendor voice platform implementation and architectures.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related Cisco IP telephony in an Operational role, including
  • Cisco Unified Communications Manager list release experience.
  • Cisco Unity.
  • Cisco Emeergency Responder and or integrated E911 support.
  • H323 / SIP / MGCP / SCCP.
  • Cisco Hardware and Software.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Highly self-motivated.
  • Ability to work in a team oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to conduct investigative research into telecommunications issues and products.
  • Microsoft Office Suite (2003 and 2007).
  • Microsoft Visio.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, oral communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure environment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills required using analytical and problem solving abilities.

BusinessKnowledge:


  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and procedure manuals
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Working technical knowledge of PBXs, voice mail, ACD's, interactive voice services, call management systems and telecommunications accounting systems.
  • Detailed understanding of carrier technologies including, T1/PRI, ISDN, MPLS and systems interconnectivity
  • Extensive knowledge of Call Center applications and requirements
  • Detailed knowledge of cabling and wiring systems, design, and installation
  • Ability to operating tools, components, peripherals, and testing accessories
  • Project management experience
  • Proficient technical knowledge of obtaining and analyzing voice networking traffic

Education:


  • A bachelor's degree / degree preferred in the field of telecommunications or computer science or equivalent work experience with Active Cisco Voice specializations.

WorkConditions:


  • Occasional On-call rotation availability for entire voice enterprise for the Client.
  • Occasional inspection of cables and wiring in floors and ceilings
  • Occasional Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as telecommunications equipment and peripherals
  • Occasional same day or overnight travel may be required.
