Job Description

There is a regular full time position as a JMCRS Financial Analyst I/II in JAX Mice, Clinical & Research Services.

Working under limited supervision, this position is responsible for providing support in a variety of financial accounting needs.  This is an intermediate level position with college level background and two (2) or more years of successful experience in a position having financial analysis as the principal responsibility.  Incumbent is able to carry out a range of professional analysis assignments in a developing capacity.

Position is responsible for:

  • Assist in the development of budget for designated departments
  • Works with financial managers, department managers, or designated budget personnel to assist in developing and monitoring budgets
  • Analyzes financial activities to determine if actual and budgets are in line
  • Conducts simple to moderate cost studies
  • Produces standard and ad hoc reports in response to specific reporting requests and uses various software tools
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Knowledge of modern accounting theory, methods and practices as would normally be acquired through attainment of a Bachelors degree in finance, accounting or a related subject from an accredited college or university and two (2) or more years of successful experience in a position having financial analysis as the principal responsibility
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of budgeting with one (1) or more years of successful experience providing a systematic review, analysis, interpretation, and/or evaluation of budgets as the principal responsibility.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Extensive computer skills at a expert level when it comes to financial tool development
  • Ability to build strong, positive working relations across a number of departments
Required Experience
  • One to three years of financial analysis, costing and financial tool development required.
  • Ability to prepare a variety of financial statements, reports, and analyses and model the economic dynamics of the departments they support.
  • Highly skilled and knowledgeable in word processing software, database and spreadsheet software to aid in design and changes in financial and ERP systems.
