Job Description

We are currently seeking talented Director Enterprise ALM for our San Antonio, TX facility. 

PURPOSE OF JOB

The position will lead optimization of USAA's capital and liquidity by managing access to the external capital markets and leading capital market transactions for all USAA entities including capital markets reinsurance, asset securitization, debt issuance, and credit line renewal.

JOB DUTIES

  • Applies expert capital markets knowledge leading cross-functional teams to engineer capital strategies and achieve optimal results raising capital for USAA. Leads the ongoing development and maintenance of a comprehensive modeling framework to measure and monitor the Enterprise's interest rate risk.
  • Responsible for the analysis, reporting, monitoring and management of USAA's consolidated interest rate risk position. Manages and reports interest rate risk at financial institution(s) regulated by the Federal Reserve.
  • Provides strategic and tactical recommendations to leadership related to designing capital markets strategies.
  • Serves as a leader and expert on interest rate risk management for Enterprise ALM Working Group, Corporate ALM Committee, Risk Council, Corporate Treasury and lines of business.
  • Oversees compliance/regulatory and risk management for interest rate risk and identifies and recommends appropriate risk mitigation efforts to senior management.
  • Leads and develops a team of professionals.
  • Performs all other tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Six (6) years experience related to capital management, capital markets, or other similar discipline.
  • Experience structuring for, issuing in, or purchasing from the capital markets.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics or other related discipline or six years of relevant work experience (in lieu of a degree) required.

Preferred

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA).
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
  • Mortgage capital markets, asset backed securities, unsecured debt markets, and bank relationship management experience.
  • Strong financial/technical skills (treasury and asset liability management expertise, interest rate risk hedging and data analytics).
  • Full income statement proficiency (accounting, regulatory, rating agency).
  • Full balance sheet proficiency (accounting, regulatory, rating agency, treasury).

***Selected candidates will attend and complete the Management Development School program in San Antonio, TX, during their first six months in position.***
