Job Description

Job SummaryThis is an individual contributor role, part of a team supporting the Accounting and Financing department with analysis, report preparation, modeling and presentation preparation. Assist other departments with financial related information.

Essential Functions

* Develop reports/data to assist in the evaluation of business performance
* Develop analysis of monthly/quarterly/annual consolidated and subsidiary financial data, including variance analysis, fluctuation analysis and/or determination of profitabilility
* Financial modeling for current and future cost or revenue impact
* Preparation of written and presentation materials
* Participate in automation and other efforts, to streamline and improve reporting and evaluation processes
* Participate in documentation of relevant business processes and procedures

State Plan / Department Specific Duties and Responsibilities (List all essential duties other than those listed above in order of importance)

* Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and planning, including participation in business development and financing projects
* Develop industry financial research and analysis

Accounting Info Systems:
* Monitor and enforce internal controls related to the Accounting financial processes
* Collect and maintain SOX control required data and binder
* Monitor and second-level review of monthly corporate bank reconciliation
* Assist with month-end accounting processes in the defined area
* Other duties assigned to support department projects

Risk Adjustment Programs:
* Develop analysis of consolidated and subsidiary Risk Adjustment Factors (RAF)
* Follow CMS guidelines and regulation for data submission/collection , audit etc.
* Scrub, manipulate, modify and move large data files
* Write complex SQL script, SSIS packages and SSRS reports (using SSRS reporting tools)

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities* For FP&A only: Experience in understanding financial statements according to GAAP/SEC, and SSAP for health organizations, as applicable
* Strong analytical skills
* Provide required information on time and with a high degree of quality and transparency
* Ability to work independently and multi-task, with a strong attention to detail
* Ability to effectively review and comment on, the work of others
* Ability to utilize specialized software tools required to perform job functions
* Ability to communicate effectively; excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Strong PC skills, including solid experience with standard Microsoft products
* Flexibility to work additional hours on an as needed basis to meet deadlines
* Ability to abide by Molina's policies
* Maintain regular attendance based on agreed-upon schedule
* Maintain confidentiality and comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
* Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective work relationships with coworkers, clients, members, providers and customers

Required Education:
FP&A and Accounting Info Systems: Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting or related field
Risk Adjustment Programs: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science or Healthcare-related field

Required Experience:
FP&A and Accounting Info Systems: Minimum 2-5 years increasingly complex financial analysis and modeling.
Risk Adjustment Programs:
* Minimum 2-4 years increasingly complex reporting and analytics (at least one year of which must be within the healthcare industry).
* Proficient skill/experience with SAS tools.

FP&A or Accounting Info Systems:
* Health insurance industry experience .
* Experience in a Fortune 500 company or national CPA firm.
* Experience with Hyperion, Cognos or similar tools
Risk Adjustment Programs:
* Medicare risk adjustment analytics experience
* Experience in a Fortune 500 company
