Job Description

This position is the senior postion for PCH's payroll services, overseeing all daily activities of the payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll and ensuring accurate and timely completion of all payroll-related reports to various external organizations such as W-2 processing, payroll tax filings and payroll-related audits, such as with 401(k).

Position Duties

1. Leads routine payroll preparation effort as well as any special payroll projects in accordance with PCH policies and pay practices and applicable law.
2. Manages the administration of child support, levies and garnishments in accordance with PCH policies and practices and applicable law.
3. Manages the maintenance of all documents consistent with practices recommended by the Payroll Manager and reviewed and approved by the Director of General Accounting or the VP of Finance.
4. Responsible for the overall management of the Kronos and/or other timekeeping database, including periodic updates and other changes; and also includes periodic audits to ensure compliance with PCH policies and practices and to further ensure PCH compliance with wage and hour laws.
5. Responsible for timely and accurate preparation of W-2s, assistance with 5500 reports and other major reports, including interaction with external auditors related to payroll for the GAAP audit and 401(k) auditors. Also includes timely and accurate filing of 941 tax filings. Further includes completion of specially requested internal reports relating to payroll.
6. Serves as the senior PCH resource for federal and state wage and hour laws and must be able to research and communicate effectively with PCH employees and PCH management specifically to ensure Payroll compliance.
7. Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.

Job Requirements

Education Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Preferred)
Experience Requirements
  • Seven or more years of progressively more responsible experience in the payroll function (Required)
  • Three years of experience in a payroll supervisory or manager role. (Preferred)
  • Experience with Kronos Time and Attendance (Preferred)
Certification/License/Registry Requirements
  • Certified payroll professional (Preferred)
Skill Requirements
  • Advanced Excel skills (Required)
