Wireless Engineer - Some travel will be required.

POSITION SUMMARY - Candidate will be a part of an IT Infrastructure Deployment team to design, support, maintain, and monitor systems infrastructure for critical reliability and maximum up-time for hospitals. Position will be responsible for the overall Wireless Network Engineering, Implementation, and Support for the enterprise. A very important requirement of the position will involve creating and maintaining graphical and text-based documentation and standards development for the enterprise Wireless infrastructure. In addition to technical expertise, the candidate should also demonstrate leadership qualities and the ability to interact at all levels of corporate & facility management and staff. This client offers the opportunity to gain extensive work supporting hospital clinical environments.


  • Deployment Wireless Engineer for Enterprise Wireless infrastructure projects.
  • Design, implement, and support Enterprise Wireless systems in conjunction with other engineering platform specialists.
  • Plan and coordinate, install, configure, patch, upgrade, and maintain all Wireless platform technologies.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex configuration and troubleshooting issues within a multi-vendor infrastructure.

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco Prime
  • Intermediate level knowledge in Routing & Switching, as well as other areas of: IP internetworking, LAN Switching
  • 5 years’ experience - specialized knowledge of the definition, design and implementation of CISCO Wireless platforms. (VoIP experience a plus)
  • CISCO CCNA/CCNP Wireless certification required (CCIE Wireless certification strongly desired)
  • Possess intermediate skills with Cisco networking, DNS and IP administration
  • Knowledge of RADIUS and TACACS
  • Knowledge in LAN protocols such as HSRP, Spanning Tree Protocol, and VLAN Trunking, IP Routing protocols (EIGRP, BGP)
  • Hands-on experience with WAN network topologies and hardware (MPLS, Private Line, etc)
  • Ability to produce detailed documentation including data flow diagrams, logical diagrams, and physical diagrams as required
  • Expert level troubleshooting in a large-scale network environment
  • Large-scale wireless design skills
  • Successful track record implementing and supporting wireless engineering projects
  • Knowledge of performance tuning tools and wireless management systems
