  • Located in Central Ohio, the Mount Carmel Health System serves more than a million patients each year through five hospitals and over 50 outpatient facilities.
    We are seeking a Cook to join our team of dedicated professionals as we continue our mission of improving the health of the communities we serve.
    Job Description
    This position is responsible for preparing and serving high quality and quantity hot food menu items and baked goods for patients, hospital staff and visitors.
    Other responsibilities include:

    •         Obtains appropriate ingredients from storage areas for recipes when necessary.

    •         Responsible for lifting and carrying medium to heavy food and equipment.

    •         Reports problems with equipment to supervisor.

    •         Performs daily cleaning functions as assigned.

    •         Tests new recipes when assigned.

    •         Responsible for compliance with Organizational Integrity through raising questions and promptly reporting actual or potential wrongdoing.

    •         All other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Candidates will possess a high school diploma and work history will include 2 years of Cook experience in a food preparation activities.  
Other qualifications include:
  • Prefer individual who has worked two years or more in large institutional food preparation activities or three years related work experience in other food preparation activities may be adequate.
  • Effective Communication Skills
  • Must have knowledge of large quantity standards of cooking.
  • Must have knowledge of food preparation by recipe.
  • Ability to complete assignments under direct periodic supervision.
  • Must be compatible with others and work well in a service situation with many different people.
  • Must have a clean and neat appearance.
  • Must have the ability to work a variety of shifts and a variety of schedules.
