Role Summary

Customer Service Pharmacy Technicians are responsible for providing a high level of customer service, quality, and accuracy by taking inbound calls from our customers. Customer Service Pharmacy Technicians are to establish all prescriptions, assist pharmacists in interpreting prescription medication, quantity and instructions according to the provider's written instruction, and route the established orders as dictated by departmental policies and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Maintains performance metrics including Average Handle Time, Quality, Scheduled Adherence, and Queue stats while using efficient and appropriate work practices.
  • Actively listens to customers, probes for clarification, and provides consultative guidance based upon customers individual health needs.
  • Majority of the day will be sitting at desk taking inbound calls.
  • Identify and select correct medication and strength.
  • Determine correct quantity and days supply.
  • Select appropriate doctor and update information as needed.
  • Enter appropriate directions as stated on the prescription and in accordance with Cigna Home Delivery Pharmacy policies and procedures.
  • Dispense brand or generic as requested by the doctor or patient.
  • Establish orders using order form and orders received from customers.
  • Access to confidential materials and handling with discretion.
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Bachelor's Degree preferred
Minimum two years of customer service experience in any industry.
Minimum 3 years of pharmacy data entry experience preferred
CPhT strongly preferred
Position requires excellent interpersonal skills, ability to understand and interpret policy provisions
Demonstrate strong data entry and typing skills with proficiency in the use of a PC including ability to use a mouse and keyboard interchangeably
Ability to understand complex oral and written directions as well as technical information
Ability to locate and interpret complex information from approximately multiple computer applications residing in a Windows environment.
Capacity to work in a production and quality environment to meet required standards.
Ability to succeed within a team environment.
Being able to sit or work in one specific area for your entire work shift.
Demonstrated high-level communication skills by expressing thoughts and information clearly and succinctly.
