Key Objectives/Accountabilities:

The successful candidate for the Senior Civil Engineer position will provide project management leadership on diverse domestic projects, manage client relationships, and engage in business development initiatives.  Applicants should demonstrate proficiency in:

  • Managing significant programs and projects (multi-year and 500K+) for state, private, or government clients
  • Understanding project contract requirements for risk management
  • Ensuring that project teams work together to achieve quantifiable results – setting performance targets for staff, providing inspiring leadership and direction, mentoring, and actively identifying and resolving issues
  • Providing solutions for working with remote staff in a multi-office environment
  • Managing budgets, forecasts, utilization rates, equipment, and reports for projects, staff, and subcontractors
  • Preparing / directing / reviewing proposals, technical documents, and reports


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • 12+ years of experience with at least 5 years of significant project/contract management experience
  • Professional Engineer Certification required, ability to obtain P.E. in Wyoming within 6 months of hire date
  • Civil engineering experience in projects involving a major percentage of the following: slope stability, soil bearing capacity, drainage, concrete pad design, storm water / surface water, oil and gas permitting and compliance, geotechnical investigations
  • Comprehensive experience designing significant civil or environmental projects and monitoring construction operations
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively, persuasively, and tactfully interact with clients and employees at all levels of an organization
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and strategic planning skills with attention to detail and a high quality of work in a pressure environment with multiple projects occurring simultaneously
  • Strong project management, data interpretation, and technical writing skills
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, disciplines, and experts including senior management, clients, and other departments
