Job Description

As the lead developer of radars for some of the most advanced systems in the U.S. arsenal, Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems is a world leader in advanced radar systems and design. These include radars for the F-22, Joint Strike Fighter, F-16, B-1B, AWACS, MESA, G/ATOR, AMDR, SABR and UAV systems such as Global Hawk.

Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems is seeking a Radar Systems Engineer to fill roles on multiple radar system programs.

Position Summary / Responsibilities:
Performs analyses, technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for radar systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of radar system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into a radar systems solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Leveling Factors:
*Applies technical expertise consistent with formal education, and holds some knowledge of other related disciplines.
*Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and clearly present technical approaches and findings.
*Develops technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
*Performs work without appreciable direction as well as under the direction of more senior staff.
*Aids the successful completion of major programs and may function in a team leadership role. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in failure to achieve needed system performance.

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications: Typical Minimum Education / Experience: 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD.
BS, MS or PhD in EE or related Engineering discipline, or Physics or Mathematics with prior experience in radar systems. Interest in the application of radar signal processing. Must be a US citizen and able to get a Secret clearance. 5 years of relevant experience with a BS; 3 years with an MS; 0 years with a PhD. US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Hold the minimum of a DoD Secret clearance
