Under the supervision of the Cath Lab Coordinator, performs the specialized duties of assisting the physician during procedures. Prepares and maintains the aseptic supplies, acquires thorough job training and orientation, the basic technical and physiologic knowledge to assist the cathing physician. Be required to take "call" as needed and in accordance with the department on call policy.
Assist the physician doing a cardiac cath by utilizing aseptic technique. Help transport patients to and from department. Maintain adequate supplies and equipment in room. Help supervisor in the ordering of supplies.
- Graduate from an accredited High School or GED
- Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Tech program preferred
- 0-6 months preferred with 500 PCI hours experience
- CV Tech certification or RCIS certification or 500 hours of PCI experience
- Current American Heart Association Life Support card (BLS)
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) or obtain within 6 months of hire
