The supervisor is responsible for leading the cardiovascular surgery teams in providing the most sophisticated and efficient surgical treatments available in Cardiothoracic/Cardiovascular Perioperative care. The Supervisor will collaborate with the Surgical Services and Cardiovascular Directors to work and grow the cardiovascular service line. The supervisor will promote business development for the cardiovascular OR and serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day operations to include budgeting and quality improvement.

Key JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works with associates, management and physicians to develop systems and procedures necessary for all CVOR procedures.
Provides information and support required by associates to solve problems and to accomplish the objectives of CVOR.
Plans, organizes and delegates to other healthcare personnel based on knowledge of patient needs and skills and competencies of the personnel.
In conjunction with medical directors, insure the development, implementation and evaluation of clinical standards of care, practice and performance.
Maintains active communication among medical staff, hospital directors/managers and their associates.
Evaluates the care delivered and updates the plan of care.
Establishes patient care priorities.
Participates in responses to regulatory agencies (TJC, etc.) with regards to CVOR Surgery. Insures regulatory compliance in area which includes thorough and complete documentation of all required competencies and training.
Complies with all laws and regulations and hospital policies in performing job responsibilities.
Copes with stress and change positively.
Assists other associates to develop skills and knowledge.
Actively participates in the Institute’s overall Strategy Development and PI plan.
Promotes safe work practices among associates to prevent injuries to employees and others.
Can effectively manage multiple priorities/processes as evidenced by projects and targets met in a timely manner.
