Job Description

Responsible to receive direction to assist Director in the planning, managing and organization control of operational systems relative to the provision of peri-operative and procedural area patient care. With minimal supervision and in conjunction with the Director plans, leads, organizes and controls the provision of patient care in the Same Day Surgery, Pre-admissions, GI Lab, Cardiovascular Services, Peri Operative Services and PACU. Assumes responsibility, in conjunction with the Director; the enforcement of Departmental policies and procedures, Medical Staff Rules and Regulations and Standards of Practices relative to the performance of employee and Medical Staff. Knowledgeable in JCAHO, Title 22 regulations and labor contractual guidelines. Responsible for supervising registered nurses, technicians, clerk, and surgical attendants and others working under his/her direction. In conjunction with the Director, assumes 24 hour overall responsibility and accountability to create a system that ensures quality, safe and therapeutic care. The Manager supervises and develops the staff, provides input to planning and monitoring of unit operations and assists in meeting budgetary goals.



Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN required, MSN preferred. Familiarity with ambulatory, in-patient, and short stay procedural populations. Demonstrates knowledge of ambulatory surgery and outpatient procedural areas concepts and practice styles. Minimum three years management experience required. Previous experience in peri-operative services, ambulatory services, GI, PACU (any combination) is preferred. Must have a current license in the State of California as a Registered Nurse. Must have American Heart Association BLS/ACLS certification.
