Job Description

Our client manufactures aviation restraint systems and airbag products. This position will be responsible for providing technical writing/data administration for the Certification department in support to Airbag and Core Seatbelt product lines.

Specific Responsibilities:

The technical writer-data administrator primarily supports the certification office and the engineering staff as required / assigned and includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities:

  • Coordination and creation of test reports, plans, formatting and proofing of these documents 
  • Creation and revision to Abbreviated Component Maintenance Manuals, 
  • Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, Supplemental Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, Installation Instructions and other program specific documents
  • Engineering document support
  • Document control, revision history, records of data submittal to certification authorities, coordination and control of certification documents required for individual airbag programs
  • Creation and cataloging of Declaration of Design and Performance documents to appropriate certification authorities
  • Maintenance and monitoring of certification documents


  • The employee has the authority to interact with engineering, program management, and US and Foreign Certification Authority personnel as directed by the Certification Engineers and/or Manager of Certification.
  • Certification Data Submittal to US and Foreign Certification Authorities as required by the Certification Engineers and/or the Manager of Certification

Job Requirements

Training/Certification Requirements:

  • The employee should have previous technical writing experience in an engineering/technical environment. 
  • The employee should have experience in the aerospace industry. 
  • The employee should be familiar with typical aerospace standards for certification documents and technical manual.

Proficient in Microsoft Office tools:

  • Word
  • Excel
  • Office
  • PowerPoint
  • Proficient in Adobe Acrobat

Educational Requirements and Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or higher education
  • 3-5 years minimum of related experience
  • Basic knowledge of document control and records management practices.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Must be well organized and a team player. 
  • Must be willing to uphold the integrity and best practices of the Certification Department.
