Senior Cerner Specialist - Patient Accounting

Job Description

Ascension Information Services is currently searching for a Senior Cerner Solutions Specialist.   The OneChart Solution Specialist is the subject matter expert for specific assigned Cerner solutions. The specialist designs options and recommends solutions, troubleshoots applications, conducts application quality assurance, participates in testing, and integrates new applications/packages/upgrades with installed base.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains an in-depth knowledge of OneChart standards, solution design, functionality and implementation methodology
  • Independently identifies, defines, directs, and performs analyses to resolve complex first-time project issues including the analysis of technical and economic feasibility of proposed systems solutions
  • Designs projects with broad implication for the business and/or the future architecture, successfully addressing cross-technology and cross-platform issues
  • Able to balance and negotiate the needs of multiple users and communicate the business advantages of various technical solutions
  • Leads the development of effective networks of internal and external customers, suppliers, the technical community, and consultants
  • Understands changing business needs for OneChart and recommends strategies for the future
  • Builds and maintains up-to-date knowledge about organization and industry trends and strategy, and advises customers on approaches to optimize business success
  • Able to effectively communicate highly technical information to numerous audiences, including senior management, the user community, and less experienced staff
  • Primary Cerner Application Management Services (AMS) contact for specific solution.
  • Participate in Workflow Standardization
  • Tracks to solution specific roadmaps/changes
  • Participates in integration planning and strategy
  • Contributes to enhancement of the OneChart Playbook
  • Reports status to supervisor Complies with documentation standards

Job Requirements

Minimum Knowledge and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree desirable.  A combination of education and work experience will be considered in leiu of a degree
  • Experience with Cerner required
  • Able to effectively communicate highly technical information to numerous audiences, including senior management, the user community, and less-experienced staff
  • Knowledge of the following is required
    • Patient Accounting
    • Charge Services

Minimum Work Experience:

  • Experience working in a healthcare environment desired (minimum 4 years)
  • At least 5 years of relevant IT experience
  • Experience desired working in complex/multi-facility environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong meeting facilitation skills
  • Experience working productively in a virtual environment preferred
  • Able to travel 50%
  • Proficient in MS Office Products including MS Project and Visio
  • Proven experience working on projects in a team environment
