Job Description

The Superior Group is partnering with our client in San Jose, CA in a search for their next Field Service Engineer.
The Field Service Engineer is the expert level support for local field service teams, service providers providing technical assistance to ensure maintenance and repairs are properly executed, installation and commissioning of IE products and tools.
This person is the technical champion on all aspects of maintenance and repair for IE products, training Field Service Engineers on site and be the escalation point for difficult repairs where on site engineers are not capable to fix an issue on-site.
This person will be responsible for developing Standard Operational Procedures for onsite and workshop repairs and maintenance, as well as, installing and maintaining CE service tools and refill rigs globally and training and support of local service providers.
Will have to travel internationally up to 50% of the time in certain periods

Development and maintenance service SOP

Health & Safety control and coordination (H&S)
Consumer Electronics refill rig installation, commissioning and maintenance (CE)
Field demo and test units
Field engineering tools and materials
CE rigs and service tools
Key Relationships
Stationary Power and CE Support managers
NPI Lead
Product Technical Lead
Parts Management and Logistics
Programme Managers
Engineering teams
External FSE organisation
Local Service & Operations Managers
Group H&S Officer, Test & Validation Teams

Job Requirements

Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Associates degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years experience in field service role or engineering and installation.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a leading role as team leader, shift leader or similar.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Electrical maintenance
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Software configuration (e.g. control unit)
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Gas handling
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Electrical installation
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Mechanical maintenance
  • Team player
  • Solution orientated
  • Can work autonomously
  • Ability to transfer field maintenance skills to others.
Additional Information:
  • This candidate will be taveling up to 50% of the time internationally.
