Job Description


 As part of Intelligrated's Integrator Support team the Mechanical Engineer is an integral part in the planning, scheduling and executing of product and project tasks including; estimating, hardware pricing, application evaluation, project layout, design, detailing, troubleshooting, evaluation, and ordering.
In this role, the Mechanical Engineer must be able to work with various team members, including Integrator Sales, Integrators, Product Managers, other Engineers, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Vendors, and Project Managers. Provides input into the development of customer proposals and presentations with an efficient mechanical layout of a material handling system. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Supporting equipment pricing on layouts provided by customers
  • Attends Customer Presentations with Sales as necessary
  • Contributing to the team effort in all aspects as required and called upon within the engineering function from pre-order evaluation of the specifications through post order job site evaluations, with the main emphasis on (standard and special) equipment design
  • Attends weekly team meetings, reviews scheduled tasks/timelines
  • Contributes to test plans (Internal, In-House, Site, Commissioning and Acceptance)
  • Provides site/field reports daily, including progress, issues and next steps
  • Communicates and bring to closure all internal and customer created issue lists
  • Understands scope, budget and schedule for designated portions of the project
  • Creates/delegates drawing (layout, detail, load, hanger, air, approval, installation), required calculations, sales orders and other required project work
  • Schedules and facilities lessons learned post-mortem engineering review; focuses on technical aspects of the project and what can be done to improve
 


Job Requirements


  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering plus a minimum two (2) years or equivalent combination of education and co-op experience is preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent comprehension of spatial relationships
  • Excellent mathematical skills required for analysis of formulas and calculations
  • Knowledge and experience with power transmission, pneumatic and hydraulic component selection
  • Knowledge and experience with strength of materials and finite element analysis
  • Some travel occasionally along with willingness to perform hands on investigation
  • Ability to perform basic disassembly/assembly tasks using hand tools and product lifting up to 40 pounds 
  • Highly proficient using AutoCAD 2D and 3D and Microsoft Office software
  • Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge in the area of specialization to the completion of significant assignments, operating with considerable latitude or un-reviewed action of decision
  • Knowledge of detailing for production facilities (cutting, bending, welding) capabilities 
  • Knowledge of equipment controls and applications as it relates to the mechanical system
  • Organizational skills required to monitor and report on numerous product quality, improvement, and new development projects simultaneously
