Credentialing Manager

Job Description


Responsible for the overall management of the credentialing processes for the division.  This individual will manage the Credentialing Coordinators to ensure timely processing of practitioner’s privileging process at the client facility. This individual will identify areas of concern and present recommendations for improvements; implement and monitor those recommendations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities -

  • Drive performance management for the Credentialing staff within the division (efficiency, work flow, follow-up calls, ensure that all practitioners are privileged prior to working)
  • Provide guidance, assistance, and direction in the Credentialing process
  • Implement and oversee adherence to Credentialing policies and procedures
  • Mentor and assist in training  and with start ups for new Credentialing Coordinators
  • Ability to meet time-sensitive deadlines and multi-task in a changing healthcare environment.
  • Identify training and development opportunities for staff
  • Oversee special projects
  • Manage the work flow between the Credentialing Coordinators.
  • Manage and train temporary employees
  • May be responsible for credentialing at a limited number of contracts
  • Mentor employees, conduct performance evaluations, counsel and provide disciplinary actions to assigned personnel, and works to facilitate individual and team development that drives positive results.
  • Works with the Recruiting Manager and Scheduling Manager(s) to identify, develop, recommend, and implement divisional best practices
  • Work with RCEO, RCOO, RCA, Medical Directors and Divisionalal Medical Directors to address client or practitioner credentialing needs and concerns

Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities-

  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, may substitute equivalent work experience.


  • A minimum of two (2) - three (3) years experience in the field.
  • Credentialing certification preferred.

Other i.e. knowledge and skills:

  • Applicant must exercise sound judgment in planning and accomplishing goals.
  • Will direct the work of others.
  • Well developed leadership skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Word, Excel and database experience.
  • Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
