Our client, aleader in their market and driver of technology innovation, is looking for anenergetic, motivated, and experienced The Network AdministratorII.

Job Description:

The NetworkAdministrator II provides end-user support and ensures all network users canaccess appropriate network resources. Ensures network integrity by performingaccount maintenance, daily backups, creating system baselines, systemmonitoring, and documenting the network configuration. Responsible for trackingall work performed by utilizing the helpdesk system.

Job Requirements

Skills/ Knowledge/ andAbilities:

         Designs a secure networkinfrastructure for high availability and to the meet the needs of thecompany.  

         Installs, configures andtroubleshoots network components such as routers, switches, firewalls andwireless controllers.

         Creates and maintainsnetwork documentation such as physical & logical network topology diagrams,as-built documentation, rack elevations, and operationalprocedures.

         Deploys and maintainsnetwork tools to monitor network health status and trend network performance.

         Develops networkconfiguration backup and restore strategies.

         Perform daily networkadministrative tasks such as review access logs, assign security permissions,and perform daily backups of network infrastructure.

         Ensures all networkresources are available and accessible by properly authorized personnel at alltimes.

         Accurately maintains theinventory database of network infrastructure systems as well as warrantyinformation, support agreements, modification history, software & servicepacks installed, and physical location.

         Ensures all computerprograms in company use are properly licensed, adhere to company standards, andare operational and functional at all times.

         Provides accurate timeand resource requirements for assigned tasks and meetsdeadlines.

         Manages projects toachieve department and company goals by coordinating with other IT Specialists,other departments, corporate IT and vendors to ensure projects are completed ina timely manner and in accordance to predefined standards.

         Develops, designs,analyzes, and budgets on projects assigned by the IT Manager.

         Manages multiple tasksand projects to schedule, ensuring requirements are met. Reports on progressweekly and measures against goals/initiatives to management for meeting projectobjectives.

         Fosters effective,continuous communication and expedient problem resolution by interacting in apositive, professional manner with all departments, employees at all levels andexternal contacts.

         Effectively communicateswith Vendors by escalating problem in a timely manner.

         Assists in theaccomplishment of company objectives by performing other related duties asassigned by supervisor.

         Performs other duties asassigned.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities in thefollowing areas:

         Required

  • Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline
  • Generally 2-5 years’ experience in related field.  Certification is required in some areas or MS/MA and generally 2-4 years of experience in related field.
  • Cisco CCNP Certification or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work the extra hours as needed and be on-call as required.  Ability to work in any Communications, Inc. location as needed.
  • Extensive experience with DNS, DHCP, VoIP, TFTP, and other network protocols.
  • Expert working knowledge of TCP/IP v4
  • Strong working knowledge of network & routing protocols, such as, EIGRP,  OSPF, CDP, Spanning Tree, HSRP, multicast, QoS
  • Strong working knowledge of converged networks with Data, Voice and Video
  • Strong network infrastructure troubleshooting skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Visio
  • Strong working Knowledge of SNMP
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows 7 & Server 2008
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP v6
  • Preferred
  • Working knowledge of Solarwinds
  • Working knowledge of TelePresence
  • Working knowledge

Education:

  • Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline
