Job Description


The Director of the Cancer Center and Oncology Services will report to the Chief Nurse Executive and oversee strategy and operations for a well-established Cancer Center and the inpatient Oncology units, with the support of Nurse Managers.


While a clinical background can be helpful, the emphasis of the Director of Cancer Center and Oncology Services is on business-building, bringing in more patients, and building relationships with physicians.


The Director of the Cancer Center and Oncology Services will join the team of healthcare leaders who are committed to providing the best patient care derived from competence, professional experience, knowledge, and evidence-based practices.


The Director of the Cancer Center and Oncology Services is critical to the success of the Cancer Center and Oncology Service Line and requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of this faith-based organization. 


The Cancer Center and Oncology Service Line belongs to a non-profit 400-bed regional hospital that continues to serve the community for over 100 years.  This is the city’s largest private employer that specializes in cardiovascular care, comprehensive cancer, women and children services, including intensive care.


Being located in the Central Valley, there is easy access to San Francisco at 1 ½ hours, Sacramento is 45 minutes, 20 minutes to Wine Country, and 2 ½ hours to Lake Tahoe. 



Job Requirements


Director of the Cancer Center and Oncology Services Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Nursing or related Healthcare field experience
  • At least three years progressive Management experience in Oncology
  • Experience in budget preparation/operation
  • Masters in Business, Healthcare Administration or any healthcare related field preferred
  • Current CA RN license preferred
  • Advanced Specialty Certification preferred (i.e. AOCN)
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
