Job Description

Job Summary

The Controller maximizes return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems.  The controller position is accountable for the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.


  • Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
  • Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits; providing information to external auditors.
  • Maximizes return, and limits risk, on cash by minimizing bank balances; making investments.
  • Prepares budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
  • Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
  • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

Job Requirements

Professional Experience

  • BA or MBA degree in accounting or business administration plus 8-10 years of progressively responsible experience.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills: can develop talent by identifying strengths, weaknesses, and potential.
  • Strong management skills: ability to set clear goals and effectively delegate to team members.
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to support the company’s growth goals.
