Job Description

GeneralStatement of Responsibilities:  Assists Account Team with account plans supporting client initiatives,including technical and marketing projects. Coordinates and manages follow up and completion of client projectdetails through research and information gathering.  Participates in the research and resolutionof client issues or tasks and ensures that CSM is informed and updated.  Assists Account Team by participating inclient marketing campaign program deployment and client communications.  Coordinates program execution and management,cross-selling activities, creation of the account management business plan, andwhat the Critical Few Initiatives (CFI’s) will be for a client.  Participates in activities to increaseknowledge of the client, industry, and marketplace.  Maintains business intelligence documents andnotes. Implements and maintains program/project tracking and final resultsinformation.

Supervision Received: Reports to a Client Sales Manager orSr. Client Sales Manager

SupervisionExercised: May trainand/or onboard Client Sales Coordinators


Examples of Duties: (Any one position may not include all of the duties listed, nor do thelisted examples include all that may be found in this job.)


Participates in appropriate Strategic Account Management (SAM)meetings.  Collaborates with all SAMinternal partners and provides input for an effective SAM plan that benefitsboth Alliance Data and the Client. Learns and practices the Client Sales selling philosophy andmethodologies. 


Coordinates the SAM plan and activities developed through theplanning process. Ensures activities are being carried forward on time and asplanned.  Provides input for the creationof the SAM plan and activities calendar based on processes around needsassessment and program ideation.  Responsiblefor executing all programs. 


Administers and organizes the client meetings, includingscheduling meetings, inviting partners as needed, organizing businessintelligence and client dossiers, creates and coordinates  meeting agendas, and following up on meetingswith minutes and next steps.


Participatesin the Business Intelligence Review, including daily review of various resources,articles, trends, or discussions that may impact the client’s business. Staysup to date on knowledge of the Retail business and changes in the BankingIndustry, including change in terms.   


Partners withField Sales and participates in walk-through store visits.  Meets with floor associates and discusses front-lineissues or concerns(as applicable).


Works with internal partners to resolve client’s escalatedcustomer service issues and communicates to account team and/or client.


Partners with Sales Support teams on all aspects of accountmanagement and issue resolution.  Reviewsdata and coordinates programs to hit goals. Reviews performance measurements and ensures targets are being met.  Informed on internal and external reports andissues that arise from reporting that may affect the client.  Contributesto Advanced Analytics modeling discussions and communicates targeting changesor updates to internal partners.    Reviews and audits reports from Advanced Analytics, ConsumerInsights and Targeting and Business Insights groups.  Delivers reports and summaries to client.




Contributesto new program and idea generation when the account management team begins todevelop a marketing activities plan. Provides inputon and/or manages marketing programs that deliver value and work towardsuccessfully meeting the agreed upon goals for each critical initiative.Ensures the programs are initiated as planned, according to the activitycalendar, and that all requisite client input is correct and timely to allowthose program to be successful. 


Providesinput on program execution and design and management from the clientperspective.  Plays a consultative rolewith the Program Management team by sharing knowledge of client needs andgoals, historical data and trends.  Communicatescollateral needs with Compliance and Program Management. Works with client andCompliance to ensure all client collateral meets legal requirements.


Maintainsmarketing budget and meets regularly with accounting to ensure invoicing isaccurate and allocated appropriately.


Interacts with all levels of client organization on a regular basis(by phone or occasional travel to client.) Reviews analysis and gathersdata to prepare for client meetings.


Involved in the cross-selling of Alliance Data products andsolutions by way of research or initiation of internal meetings to discussopportunities available to the client.


May provide coaching and mentoring to Client Sales Coordinators onaccount planning projects.

Knowledge, Skills andAbilities

Knowledgeof Marketing principles, including credit, direct mail, email, and eCS.  Knowledge of Operational support for clientprograms.  Strong knowledge of MicrosoftSuite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).


Professionaldemeanor with excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.  Basic financial and quantitative skills, including profitcalculations, and ROI.  Aptitude fordetail, following a process, maintaining accuracy and consistency whencompleting job responsibilities. 


Superiorability to coordinate tasks,reactto shifting priorities without compromising assigned tasks.  Ability to communicate and interact withindividuals at all levels internally as well as with other departments andexternal clients and vendors.  Ability toreview, analyze, and research data.  Abilityto work independently.  Ability toidentify and resolve issues and problems. Excellent project/time management skills and the ability to multi-taskin a fast paced environment.


Occasionaltravel required

Minimum Qualifications:


Education: Associate degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Operations Management,or equivalent education or experience


Experience:  Threeto five years experience in Sales, Marketing, Operations or strongrelated credit experience.  Supervisoryexperience preferred.
