Compensation: $56,000.00 to $69,000.00 per year

Not for Profit organization seeking an amazing people person for an Accounting and Budget Manager position. The ideal Accounting and Budget Manager will be responsible for preparing the various budgets required, monitoring performance measures of those budgets, reviewing HUD and tax credit affiliate company financial statements and assisting in the audit process. The Accounting and Budget Manager specific responsibilities include: -Prepare the budget on an annual basis for all affiliates -Monitor the budget performance of all companies -Prepare the various grant budgets when required, as well as assist in the preparation of grant applications (involves working with multiple departments) -Review monthly financial statements and supporting reports for affiliate properties -Assist in the audit preparations process, which may include direct communication with auditors -Perform the bank reconciliations for bank accounts and review and assist in affiliate bank reconciliations -Analyze operating costs on a regular basis and as requested by the Property and Asset Management Department or other departments, which includes formatting unique financial reports -Analyze capital needs assessments, reserve and cash balances and other metrics while reviewing the results in meetings with appropriate staff -Manage the Accounts Payable staff, which includes review and approval of vendor payments and monitoring cash management -Assist in the month-end closing process and special projects that may occur throughout the year -Assist in the management of the accounting and property management software for any changes that are needed -Serve as a back-up in the other finance and accounting roles within the department, as needed

Job Requirements

-Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting required -Minimum four years of professional accounting experience with at least two years in the property management industry -Strong knowledge of spreadsheets and databases -Ability to prioritize tasks effectively -Analytical skills and attention to detail -Strong verbal and written communication skills -Ability to work independently or with little supervision
