Pharmacy Operations Manager - Phoenix

PharMerica Phoenix is recruiting a Full-Time Pharmacy Operations Manager. This position will manage the daily operations of the pharmacy including technical and pharmacist staff, scheduling, training of new staff, customer service and oversight of special projects.

Essential Functions:

  • Works with Pharmacy Director (PD) to implement work flow and productivity measures that will achieve financial performance targets and customer expectations.
  • Works with pharmacy staff and Region Pharmacy Director of Process Improvement to execute core processes, teamwork and quality initiatives to continually improve the overall quality of service to our customers.
  • Works with PD and pharmacy staff to ensure the business unit is in compliance with all Federal, State and Local laws/pharmacy regulations and PharMerica's Corporate Compliance Program.
  • Works with Account Management team to effectively communicate with customers (DON's, Administrators, Staff RNs) and resolve customer issues.
  • Works with pharmacy management to ensure implementation of daily operational quality and cost containment and on-time strategies strategies (pre-pack, order entry, cycle-fill, etc) occurs on all dispensing and procurement activities.
  • Works with PD to monitor specific budgetary items to ensure compliance on a monthly basis with cost of goods sold, wages and related, controllable/non-controllable expenses.
  • Works with pharmacy management to monitor the purchasing and inventory supply for the pharmacy to ensure corporate goals are being met (inventory turns, preferred products, generics, TI, controlled drug monitoring, etc).
  • Works with Pharmacy Director on other responsibilities, corporate initiatives (i.e. quality), special projects, and initiatives as needed.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.
  • Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, its policies and procedures, the Corporate Compliance Agreement, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of clinical services and Infusion Therapy.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy laws and federal and state regulations concerning long-term care.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical care practices for adult and geriatric patients
  • Scheduling experiance in a 24/7 enviroment
  • Ability to communicate effectively and at all levels of the organization.
  • Skilled at directing and motivating the workforce.
  • Candidate must have PharmD, current state license, background in IV and Unit Dose in long term care.
  • Minimum 2 years of management experience.
