Department - Retail Loan Collections

Position Function:

Under the general direction of the Retail Collections Manager and or Supervisor, monitors and collects on delinquent Indirect, Consumer, Small Business, Commercial, and Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac rollovers. The Senior Collector will be responsible for achieving personal and department goals set forth by management and in relation to Portfolio DQ percentages and Net Charge Offs.

The position includes working with customers to negotiate and establish workout programs for delinquent and problem loans, as well as the ability to work with legal counsel to which some of these accounts are assigned. Position requires the processing of extensions, due date changes and LOG’s on total loss claims. The position includes negotiating claims with external insurance agencies for greatest outcome on total loss claims as well as supervision of our forced placed insurance program. Position ensures proper charges to the account for breaks in coverage, refunds on accounts for proof of insurance and reconciling amortization schedules. The position must have a thorough understanding of the repossession process. The position also requires proper handling and understanding of our certificates of title and any other related DMV functions. The function requires the ability to direct and ensure correct payment applications and corrections.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

•High School Diploma or GED. •2+ years experience in the field of collections, including knowledge of FDCPA, FCRA, GLBA and bankruptcy laws and their requirements. •Proficient in the use of the PC and MS Office applications. •Strong interpersonal skills to interface and successfully negotiate/implement workout agreements and able to work independently, analyze and problem solve. •Handle negative customers and situations and handle in-office counseling. •Attention to detail to perform accurate and quality work. •Excellent written and verbal communication skills. •Effective organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills •Ability to work independently and as a member of carious teams and committees •Ability to manage priorities and workflow in a high-volume environment •Be able to participate in Bank related functions- internal and Community •Be able to work flexible hours. •Have a valid driver’s license. •Oversee the performance of the department and its personnel in the Supervisor's absence.
