Senior Electrical Engineer

Electrical Engineer with both Power Systems  AND   Protection & Controls  Experience Needed


Job Description

Currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team in a Senior Engineer position. We provide a variety of open architecture power management solutions (PMS/PMCS), substation automation, and custom protective relay applications to large industrial customers such as oil and gas producers, refineries, chemical & petrochemical plants, transportation facilities, and public and private utilities.


Duties and Responsibilities

This position will lead our engineering group in the design, implementation, commissioning and testing of ECMS systems and custom relay protection applications.

Specific duties include:

         Reviewing and analyzing customer requirements and specifications.

         Perform engineering and power system studies.

         Develop designs that align with customer requirements and meet all applicable codes and standards.

         Provide electrical power theory support and serve as the technical resource to relay engineers to develop application programs.

         Serve as the technical lead on large and / or technically complex projects.

         Assist in the development of engineering standards, policies and procedures.

         Mentoring and training less experienced engineers.

         Conduct R&D activities to assist in the development of new applications.

         Publish industry papers on innovative projects.

         Assisting sales in reviewing proposals and the development of proposals for flagship projects.



Job Requirements

Desired Skills & Experience for Senior Electrical Engineer:


The candidate must be familiar with the principles and operations of various bus transfer schemes; communication-based transfer trips, zone-interlocking, arc flash protection and load shedding applications.  Understanding of three phase power system sequence components, relay coordination and various relay protection principles and concepts integrating feeders, transformers, generators, motors, and bus protection schemes, is essential.

Minimum Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years’ demonstrable experience performing engineering duties related to this position.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred but not required.
